Farming with Kids

I had my 18 month old picking green beans because I didn’t like the wasps, and he
didn’t even notice them. (other than requiring child labor, I was a good mom)  Didn’t you say your land is at home?  I’d make a plan to work dawn/nap time and daddy time in the garden.  You might have to get some help to watch your kids on major harvesting day.  Offer a share of veggies to the sitter!

Another trick I used was to get a kid to pull ONE kind of weed.  You’d be surprised how much help they can be even when they are very young. If they can tell the difference between a dog and a cat, they can tell henbit from carrots.
